After a great deal of trial and error, I was able to achieve the above photograph, and I believe it to be my most successful image for this assignment.
I have never done interpretive photography work before, nor have I ever used a model in a photo I've taken. With this image, however, I was able to create a conceptual scene and, in turn, a sense of mystery. The viewer does not know who the individual carrying the umbrella is, nor do they know what they're doing. Likewise, the orange glow of the lamp — almost resembling the sun —and the color it adds to the nighttime scene further adds to the enigmatic mood. I believe this image is intriguing and, at the very least, makes a viewer think.
I found this assignment to be much easier than the previous one, likely because by now I've had time to get to know my camera. That being said, I found myself having to actively conceptualize photos for this assignment. As opposed to the previous assignment, I couldn't necessarily rely on everyday scenes I'd come across for subject matter. Instead, I really had to plan ahead and actively seek out (and, as with this photo, create) subjects to photograph.
I felt this assignment encouraged more experimentation. That being said, going forward, I will try to seek out more creative subject matter and not be afraid to take risks with my photographs. While doing so sometimes necessitates more thought, time, and attempts, taking the time to really consider and get creative with photographs ultimately makes for better finished products.

"Hi Daniel! Your photograph of takoyaki is well-executed, with good lighting, sharp focus, and interesting subject matter. The descriptive photo shows all the ingredients involved in the dish, and if this photo were to be on a menu or social media post, prospective customers would know exactly what to anticipate if they chose to order it. I also like your intentional inclusion of the stick used to eat the takoyaki, as it imbues the image with an even great amount of descriptive detail."
